La Jolla Tennis Club’s Bob Perry was honored at the 2010 San Diego Tennis Hall of Fame on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 4:30 PM at the Maureen Connolly Brinker Tennis Stadium at Balboa Park. Following the Induction Ceremony was a banquet honoring the recipients.
Bob Perry became the teaching professional at La Jolla Tennis Club (LJTC) without salary in 1972 . This service continued for 27 years. He is still a member and a daily presence at LJTC. His accomplishments include competing in the French Open and Wimbledon tournaments as a professional. In 1956, he and Don Candy outplayed Lew Hoad and Ashley Cooper, an Australian team, in the final of the French Open Championships. We remain proud of Bob Perry for many reasons includiong the honor of his 2010 induction into the San Diego District Tennis Association Hall of Fame. |
