LJTC was chartered in 1923 and maintains the nine city-owned courts as a public facility. The club provides the nets, wind screens, resurfacing, lights, maintenance, cleaning, and landscaping. In addition, it contributes $2,000 yearly to the La Jolla High School for the additional courts needed during the annual La Jolla Tennis Championships and the Junior Clinics. The LJTC free Junior Clinic each summer for kids is run for those who might not otherwise find any access to instruction. All juniors (18 and under) play free at the club.

The 2012 Board of Directors will usually meet on the first Tuesday of every other month in the pro shop at 6 PM. But check the newsletter or this ljtc.org web site for verification of meeting times. Members are always invited to attend. The minutes are also available for review in the white member's notebook located in the pro shop. Additionally, documents related to recent board activities will typically be made available for download below..

The LJTC Board of Directors (BOD) met on Jan 18th to Elect New Officers (see below). Remaining committee Assignments and other 2012 buisiness will be addressed at the next BOD Meeting to be held on March 13th. All 2012 BOD meetings will be held at 6 PM in the Pro Shop and are open to Club members, with minutes available subsequently in the Pro Shop.

The 2012 Officers are: Doug Fitzgerald, President; Christ Milesis, Vice President; Aimee Lansky, Treasurer; Kyle Potter, Secretary. Bruce Craig, Phifer Crute, Jeff Elliott, Donny Thompson, and Jack Zezula complete the board, serving on committees and as voting directors.

1915: Courts 3, 4, & 5 donated by Helen Browning Scripps with lights on wood poles.
1927 - 28: Court 1 built by City of San Diego.
1938: Land on East side of Draper Street purchased by LJTC from Bishop's School for $1000 & donated to S. D. City
1949: Courts 7 & 8 built by City of San Diego.
1957 - 58: Court 2 built with funds donated by Las Patronas.
1964: Court 6 built with matching funds from LJTC.
1966: Court 9 built with matching funds from LJTC.
